Irrigation Peak Load Control

Program # 1:  Radio Controlled Program

  • Participating customers will be on first come basis
  • Customers can request to be removed from program anytime during the program, however during the months of May and June - a $200 early withdrawal fee applies.
  • Once customer has signed up and equipment is installed, if request is made to be removed from the program- customer is off program for that year – 100% of monthly demand charge will be due all remaining months.

Note: on individual basis, special consideration will be given for emergency situations (well problems, system problems, etc.)  and customer may be allowed to get back on program following month if so desired – 100% of the monthly demand charge for the month the customer requested off will be due.  Weather will not be considered an emergency.

  • Auto-restarts are required to qualify for the program.

5 Month Program:

  • Program will be for the months of: May, June, July, August & September
  • Annual Facility fee due in the spring.
  • A portion of the monthly demand charge will be waived for each of the five months of the program a bill is generated but monthly demand charges are due for the months of April and October if a bill is generated.

Program # 2:  Voluntary 1 Day off Program

  • Participating customer will be on first come basis.
  • Minimum of 500 KW on NRPPD system must be signed up for program to be available.
  • Program will be for the months of:  April, May, June, July, August, September & October.
  • 1 day off per week – Monday through Saturday
  • 1st, 2nd, 3rd, choice of day by customer request
  • Actual day off will be assigned by NRPPD on first come basis by signup deadline. (goal is to have a balanced amount of KW off on any given day – Monday through Saturday)
  • Annual Facility Fee due in the spring.
  • 20% of monthly KW / demand charge will be waived for each month a bill is generated.
  • Any documented unauthorized / unscheduled use will lead to all demand charges being billed and consumer will not be allowed to continue on the program (may be waived with legitimate reason – replacement well)
  • Customers can be removed from program at their request anytime during the program.  Once customer is removed, they will not be allowed to get back on.
